This week: activists in Europe and in Israel’s Holot detention center mark International Refugee Day with marches for asylum seekers’ rights.

The 500-kilometer protest march held by migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and supporters started in Strasbourg, France, five weeks ago and ended in Brussels for a week of action. The march across Europe demands radical changes in European asylum policy and the rights for all people to move freely. Since 2000, more than 20,000 migrants have died while attempting to reach Europe. (Activestills.org)

The world is reeling from Israel’s unprecedented onslaught on Gaza, inflicting mass devastation and death upon besieged Palestinians, as well as the atrocious attack and kidnappings by Hamas in Israel on October 7.
